I Love Your {Baby} Bag

Well folks, Noelle will be here in a month. Literally, June 3rd my precious girl will enter the world. So as you might imagine, I am in a quiet (sometimes not so) panic about everything being just so for her arrival. One of the main issues I have been dealing with is what type of diaper bag to buy!

With Naomi, I used one I received as a gift. It was a traditional baby bag and I have no clue where it is now. It wasn't quality, cute, nor did it have the storage I was looking for. I had to carry a purse along with the bag and that plus a baby, stroller, and whatever else I was dealing with was not a good look. This go round I am looking for something that doesn't look at all like a baby bag and is spacious enough to fit essentials for Noelle, Naomi, and myself.

I am steering clear of anything that is nylon with a loud print. Here is are some favorites I have come across.

Plus Size, Plus One

Last time I posted, I was bursting with excitement that I have another baby girl on the way. Now, 5 months later, I just feel like bursting. Noelle Sinclair will be here in six and a half weeks and I am getting bigger everyday. With the changing seasons and after not shopping for what feels like 2 years, I want to buy new clothes, but options for plus size maternity are nil. While I am still going for cute, I am more focused on comfort, versatility, and washability (if that's a word). I need pieces I can throw in the wash (to remove the baby gook) and put back in rotation. With a 4 year old and a newborn I will not have time to take anything to the cleaners! I have been searching the internet and have found that Forever 21 among some other brands are perfect for my budget and style.
Here are a few picks from Forever 21.

Local Color: Pow Wow

Today was definitely nothing like I planned. I planned to clean and do hair and finish up some majorly neglected projects, but instead I went to a Pow Wow. Yes, an actual Native American Pow Wow. Hubby was invited by the university's Multicultural Association to the Guilford County Native American Association Annual Pow Wow and I thought it would be great to tag along and see what a Pow Wow is all about.

I was so amazed to see the pride the people took in their work. The craftsmanship was outstanding. Most of the vendors hand made their items. Their willingness to explain the history and significance to both the traditional dress, dances, and ceremonies definitely made the experience much more enjoyable.

I most certainly did not think I was going to enjoy myself as much as I did. It was such an honor being a part of this experience.

Strawberry Picking

This weekend was nothing short of perfection. We spent some quality time together, just the three of us. Saturday morning at the strawberry patch and the rest of the day at a BBQ festival in Winston-Salem (pictures forthcoming). By the end of the day we were happy, full, and exhausted!

Wellness Wednesday: Sick Leave

Hey Loves! You know that lovely quiet weekend I was going to have...well I got it. I spent the majority of the weekend in bed asleep fighting what I now know to be a nasty case of strep throat.  I can definitely attribute my illness to not eating the right foods and exhaustion.

So this weeks wellness tip will be to put the right things in your body and stay rested up. If you don't your body will turn on you and allow little monsters to invade your throat and lay you out.

Trying to get it together darlings...

Feel Good Friday: 2 Things that Made My Heart Skip a Beat

Hello Loves!! It's a rainy Friday here in Greensboro, and I am so glad it is. This weekend is going to be short and uneventful, which I am thoroughly looking forward to. This week has been one of exhaustion and frustration, I just wanna be still. It would be perfect if the monsoon outside would linger and let the sound of the rain soothe my achy head. I am eager to rest, this week has been a beast.

Not all of it was bad, here are a few things that made my heart jump...

The cutest little journal I picked up at a quaint gas station on the way to Pop...I am not quite sure what to write in it yet so I am saving it for when genius strikes.

The sun setting behind the mountains and the freedom of the open road...

Have a Beautiful Weekend.
