"Mommy, it's Christmas!" This is what I hear everyday as we are driving through the streets of our little city. Naomi just loves seeing all the lights and decoration and cannot stop telling me what she wants for Christmas. I am so amazed at how big she is and excited that she is finally starting to realize and understand what the holiday means. Hubby and I are trying to teach her the real meaning of Christmas but she is not quite interested in that yet. All she knows is that if she's a good girl, Santa will bring her lots of presents...great bargaining tool for critical moments with a two year old temper.
While she is concerned with baby dolls, baby doll clothes, baby doll houses, baby doll accessories...are you catching the theme, I am more concerned with all the clothes I wish she could get for all the photo ops that come with the Christmas Season...
I couldn't resist putting at photo of my Love up. Obviously this is from the summer but can't you just picture her in all those great outfits!!! She is too cute!!!!
What's your wishlist for the special little one in your life?
Good Morning Darlings!!! Well we have one major holiday left in 2011 and on to the new year. Likewise, we only have a little over a month to get those resolutions complete. Because I understand that some resolutions actually require a full year, look down your list and see which ones can be modified so that at least some portion of your goal can be accomplished and let the rest roll over to 2012. At least you will start the years knowing that you don't have that far to go. And if you need some motivation...
At church yesterday the preacher was speaking on being Thankful for everything no matter your situation. Even if you are in a less than desirable place in life, think of all the wonderful things you have in your life and dwell on those instead of the negative. Being thankful for the little things will help you through those rough times and allow them to pass more quickly. It all starts at the beginning of everyday....
As you go throughout your day, things are destined to upset you and throw you off. Take a minute to breathe and bring yourself back to the good in life.
I recently transitioned from a part time retail position to a full time position in a corporate environment. I am thankful that I work in an office with some amazing people and actually really like my job. But there are those times when I wish I could dedicate my full attention to FJWL and my other dream jobs stylist, personal shopper, wardrobe/closet organizer. I would be able to work from home and make my own schedule living my passion. In my perfect world, I would definitely need an amazing workspace where I could be inspired and focus. It would need to have beautiful coloring, be comfortable, and open. Here are a couple of offices I think would be perfect. Of course, I would tweak a color or a couple pieces of furniture to make them authentically mine.
I work in a corporate environment and 'tis the season for Holiday Parties! The holiday party at my job is on December 2nd and I really want to wear some sequins shorts!!! I was thinking about this exact outfit...what ya think??? I am so in love this that top from ASOS Curve!!! Whether or not I wear it to the party...I am definitely getting it. I am still debating on all the sparkle, I want to avoid looking like a Christmas ornament at all costs...
And don't forget FJWL's First Anniversary Giveaway!!!
2.It's Veteran's Day. Thank You to all that served and sacrificed for our country.
3. It's FJWL'S 1 year Anniversary!!!!!
Just Me. I was playing with some color on my eyes...
I didn't realize that I had been doing this for a year because it seems like so much longer. I first had the notion to start a blog in 2009, attempted and failed. Usually, if I attempted something and it didn't work out, I would just write it off and try something completely different. With this I couldn't do it and I had to try again. So, I began to read other blogs that I loved and studied their formats and content. I soon knew that I wanted to try and carve out a spot for myself in this amazing world I had discovered. I tried so many different names and angles for my blog that Hunny was beginning to get tired of hearing about it and just wanted me to pick something already. It just wasn't that easy. My blog was very personal to me and had to reflect the person I am and all the things I love.
One day I was staring at my blog and realized that I couldn't post on something that wasn't beautiful that it gave me no inspiration to write anything that would draw people in. I immediately began looking for blog designers. I decided that I didn't have the time to try and learn HTML design and would rather pay a professional to do it. By investing in my blog I was investing in myself. After I got my blog designed, everything just began to click. Now I am posting almost daily and it excites me to think about all the ways I have already grown and will continue to do so!
In celebration of From Jasmine With Love's First Year, I am hosting my first GIVEAWAY!!!!!
I have a red skirt that I have been trying to outfit for a while now. I have worn it with black and white of course, but really want to play with some color and prints...here is a couple of options I was playing around with. What do you think? Any suggestions?
All week I have been saying how jealous I am of those who are blessed to live on the West Coast of the country. Mainly Southern California. A lot of the bloggers I read on a daily basis are in Cali and I can't help but wish I could live in the light jacket and great layering weather they have during this time of coats, sweaters, and boots in NC.
When Californians are feeling like a change of scenery. They just head to the mountains. They have everything!!!
As I am writing this, I realize that we have beautiful mountains and gorgeous beaches in on the coast of North Carolina just a couple hours away. However, there is one thing we don't have.
The bigger Naomi gets, the more clothes she acquires and she definitely needs somewhere else to put them besides the shelves in her closet. Not to mention I have really been wanting to take on a DIY project. I am so excited to get started! Hopefully I can be finished with it this weekend! I will post pictures when I am done!!!
This weekend I finally caught up on my Project Runway. Shameful I know. I have been a fan of Anya from the beginning and am glad that she won, although Josh M. with all his attitude is definitely my favorite from Season 9.
It's Monday people and a good one at that. I hope you all find a great way to start your week.
If you aren't...
The Great Tim Gunn. He is definitely on the list of people I would like to meet in the near future.
My baby girl is growing up and I am not sure how good I feel. This morning I took her to the dentist for the second time in her life and she acted like a pro. I guess I should be grateful that she was a big girl and didn't act up but she acted like she didn't even need me!!! She's only 2 people!!! Below are some pictures of my Little Miss getting Dr. Mike ready to count her teeth.
She had to inspect his tools and make sure his gloves were clean and soft.
After her appointment we had a nice breakfast at Panera and off to school she went. Any morning is a good one when my Baby is happy.
I know this is usually a post for Wednesday, I just couldn't decided what to post. I woke up this morning thinking about the upcoming holiday and how I am going to see my mom and brother. I haven't seen them since July and am missing them terribly. I mean Skype is good but I need them in person.
In my opinion, the Thanksgiving meal is the most important meal of the year. Every year we have just about the same thing and possibly some new recipes included.
The Traditional Thanksgiving Turkey
Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Sweet Potato Tarts by my Aunt Shirley!
Any dessert that looks this good
Of course we have so much more on the table but this is generally what my plate will look like. I am planning on making a dessert this year, 2 years ago I made a sweet potato cheesecake that was delicious! I am definitely taking suggestions on a new recipe that will knock my family's socks off this year.
Are you planning to make anything special for the holiday? What are some of your favorite Thanksgiving dishes?
