Good Morning Darlings! I have been dissatisfied with my job lately, but I had a friend give me some scripture and this one jumped out at me.
Darlings, wherever you are, you are there for a reason. Any dissatisfaction is the devil trying to steer you away from God's work. Whatever work you have been given, do it as unto the Lord and you will find contentment, peace, and satisfaction.
Well Darlings, it's Friday! I don't think I have any plans this weekend: no birthday parties, no travel, nothing! Welcome sweet reprieve! All in all I think it was a good week. Here are a few things that made my heart smile.
Delicious appetizers at a new local bar.
I am not a beer drinker, but this one was good!
My first time wearing heels for more than two hours in a very long time. Since Noelle is 10 months old, I figured it's time to get back in heels.
I own tons of makeup and never wear it. In the morning I am more focused on making bottles and getting little girls off to school. But every once in a while, I will wake up with enough time to get a little fancy.
A major goal of mine is to get a grasp on my eating habits. I have never been a cook and have yet to find an after work routine that includes dinner. I mean we eat dinner, but it is not a planned dinner. Usually, it is something left over from the weekend (when my husband cooks) or a bad decision from a fast food restaurant. So after a few consecutive days of eating junk, I have decided to stick to only fruits and vegetables for the rest of the week.
I still opted for the "fast" version and threw a bag of SteamFresh veggies in the microwave, but it felt good not eating anything that had a mother stuck between two pieces of bread.
Darlings, I have got to get a grasp on this thing. Not just for me, for my girls. My habits will become their habits, and I want them to be good ones.
Any tips, tricks, or techniques for a healthy diet in the midst of a hectic life?
I have a friend who has been going through quite a trying time for about a year or so. It seems like it is one thing after the other whether it is her or she is bearing the burden of someone else's problems. Through it all her smile never wavers and her loving giving spirit never fades. She has definitely learned to dance in the rain.
I have always had hair that grew slowly and stopped right below my earlobe. I guess I got the "short" end of the stick when I comes to the hair gene. But since January, my hair has grown to a length that I never thought possible without the help of a baby in my belly and prenatal vitamins. My hair is now touching my shoulders and I couldn't be more excited! I know I am not alone when I say, my hair routine is always changing and I am always looking for something to make my hair longer, thicker, and more lustrous. Well little did I know, healthy hair that retains length is much easier than I thought.
I wash weekly or every two weeks, depending on my mood, with Cream of Nature Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. Usually in the shower, I wash a few times and then let the conditioner set while I am finishing up. If I am not too tired or it is a Saturday morning, I will hop out and do a little housework, giving my hair a really good deep condition.
After I blow-dry my hair, I moisturize with a mixture of Vitamin E, Jojoba, and Olive Oil.
My final step is to seal in this moisture with some castor oil.
I also take a Biotin pill every night before bed and rarely put heat on my hair. I am convinced that my hair is thanking me for reducing the heat and increasing the moisture. I have had no breakage and barely need a trim when I go to the salon! Which means I get to keep whatever growth happened in the 10 weeks since my last relaxer! Happy Day!!!
What are your favorite hair care tips and products! I would love to know!
Happy Wednesday Darlings! In just 17 days I will be participating in the Greensboro Color Me Rad 5k. I signed up as a motivational tool to get moving with my workouts and my goal to become "a runner" in my 30th year. I was doing so well with working out and walking and then the weather got crazy and my motivation got lost in the snow. So now that the weather is back and it seems like Spring in here to stay, I need to get back at it! I don't think I will be ready to run the full 3.1 miles, but if I can run one, walk one, and run the last I will be a happy camper! The best part about this run is that I am not doing it alone. One of my best friends is coming from Tennessee and I will have the companionship of some of my co-workers to get through my first race!
Excited and Nervous!! Can't wait to let you know how it goes!
Hello Darlings!! To know me is to know that my Pinterest addiction has not faded with time. I still love perusing the many pages and soaking up inspiration from my fellow Pinners. Here are a few that caught my eye this April Fool's Day!
