Show Me, Lord

Show Me, Lord

At the end of last year and beginning of this year, I began to hear a prayer being repeated across my social media platforms. “Lord, show me how good it can get.” I heard it time and time again, yet something about it did not sit well with me. This prayer made me make the face that says, “almost, but not quite”.

When I read this morning’s Bible passage it all began to make sense. That prayer, while I understand the sentiment, is too focused on self. I know we all want God to bless our lives in ways we’ve never seen before and we want to be utterly astonished by the way His power works in our lives in 2026, but “show me how good it can get” is not the prayer.

The prayer is the one Moses prayed before going up the mountain to meet God, “Lord, show me Your Glory (Exodus 33:18).” This passage of Exodus 33-34 is where Moses is pleading with God to not send the Children of Israel off to the promised land without His presence. At this point, God was over the Israelites (especially after the golden calf ) and He didn’t want His anger to consume them on their journey. But what would the promise land have been without the presence of God? It would have been good, but it would not have been glorious.

Friends, I want a glorious life that reflects the power of God’s love radiating through every facet. I want my entire life to shine like the face of Moses when he came down from that mountain. So my prayer for 2026 is “Lord, show me Your Glory. Let it transform the way people see me. Let your light shine through me so strong that people are in awe of Your ways. As I walk in Your Glory, help me to stay humble and lead people to you when they ask about my transformation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

I will pray this prayer for you too, my Loves, that the Lord would fill your life with His glory and all the blessings that flow from His presence. Let your answer to “How was your day?” always be, “It was glorious!”

I love you,
