The Clarity Formula

I’ve been thinking a lot about understanding lately and how it truly is the key to success in everything. When we are in school, if we don’t get understanding for an assignment, we fail. If we don’t understand a language we cannot effectively communicate with those who speak it. If I don’t get an understanding of SEO, this blog post is going to get buried in the thousands of options provided by Google. Unless you’re Forrest Gump, you cannot successfully accomplish anything without understanding.
“I can’t move forward until I have more clarity.” That is what I say and what I have heard said time and time again from people who just don’t really see how things are all going to work out. The fear of the unknown stop us in our tracks time and time again. Saying I need more clarity is just another, fancier way of saying that we just don’t have enough understanding of a situation to move.
So what is understanding and how do we get? Sometimes it’s the easiest things that seem the hardest to grasp, don’t they? This is one of those “it can’t be that simple” things. Proverbs tells us,
“For the Lord gives wisdom: from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
and
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding”
There is the formula right there!!! Don’t you see it?
Wisdom, plus knowledge, multiplied by action, and powered by the Holy Spirit equals understanding!! It’s simple in theory, but sooo hard to implement. I’ve had to run this through my mind over and over to and ask God if this is really what He meant and the only thing I come up with is yup. It’s like dipping yourself in the Jordan 7 times simple. Like love your neighbor as yourself, simple. It’s the kind of simple that doesn’t click until we get out of our own way and accept God’s Word for the uncomplicated truth that it is. Once we do that, we are able to apply this formula to every area of our lives and watch the blessings pour out.
I could talk about this so much that this week’s podcast episode it just a continuation of this conversation. I’m sharing some practical ways God showed me The Clarity Formula at work this week and would love to hear your thoughts on the subject!
As always, I love you!
